Various tourist agencies offer complete packages to Jalapão. In all cases, the starting point is Palmas, the last entirely planned Brazilian city.
From Palmas, drive 64 kilometers on highway TO-050 to Porto Nacional, and then 116 kilometers on TO-255 to Ponte Alta do Tocantins, considered the entry of Jalapão. From this point on follow to the main attraction on dirt roads – where four wheel drive vehicles are recommended.
Another option of access to Jalapão is departing from Palmas on TO-020, heading north (distant 108 km) with access to Novo Acordo. You can also travel on highway TO-030 (100 km), interconnection between Taquaruçu and Santa Tereza do Tocantins. From there, continue to the attractions, always on dirt roads - making it recommended the use of four wheel drive vehicles.
