National media highlights Jalapão region

Jalapão region has been highlighted in the Brazilian media. The “A Época” magazine published in its 545 edition, a four-page report entitled the "Green Tourist\'s Guide", and the Environment and Tourism Magazine, 2nd edition, with 60 thousand copies in circulation, also published a 20 pages report on the destination.

In the magazine "A Época", the tourist region designated as "Enchantments of Jalapão" is counted among the ten destinations in the country - "A roadmap to choose the eco-destination vacation of the country and to enjoy the holidays without destroying."

The article, by journalist Ricardo Freire, shows photographs of a Jalapão "still little known" but very heard of. The report explains the Code of Conduct for the eco-tourist and tourist agencies, and indicates that it is possible to enjoy the natural beauty without harming the environment.

Another innovation revealed is that the renowned ecotourism agency, the American "Mountain Travel Sobek," 4 Elemento's customer, has recently started offering trips to Jalapão. So it is one more option besides the "Korubo", which already conducts ecological safaris in the region. These agencies can be contacted by the respective sites: www.korubo.com.br and www.mtsobek.com.

The magazine "Environment and Tourism" portrays Jalapão as a place that is still “wild” but ready for adventure. The beautiful dunes, the crystalline waters, the rich diversity of fauna and flora and the golden grass crafts are emphasized in this article as main attractions of the region.

Tips

According to recommendations of the Tourism Agency Association of Australia, both agencies and eco-tourists should maintain the natural integrity of places visited, respect the local culture, improve efficiency in the use of natural resources such as water and energy, and prevent so that waste does not cause environmental and aesthetic impact at visited locations.

These tips are also proposed by Adtur - Tourist Development Agency of the state of Tocantins. Adtur’s Website is turismo.to.gov.br.
